Saints performance up at Newcastle reflected the North-East weather - miserable from start to finish!
Despite Ralph Hasenhüttl's side scoring two brilliant goals, through Takumi Minamino and James Ward-Prowse, it was a comedy of errors at the other end.
Three incredibly soft goals for Newcastle meant it finished 3-2 to the Geordies.
Incredibly, Steve Bruce's team played the last 20 minutes with only nine men - after a sending off and then an injury (having made all three substitutes) - but, other than Danny Ings hitting the inside of a post, Saints never really looked like breaking down a stubborn United side.
Its now five Premier League defeats in a row for Saints.
In summary, frustrating!
